On August 6, 2011, The Lord Our Savior took home Lindsay Jasper, 81 of Louisa, Virginia.
Born Wednesday, October 2, 1929 in Lynchburg, Virginia , he was the son of the late John Jasper and the late Daisy Johnson Jasper.
Lindsay grew up in Lynchburg, Virginia and attended school there. He later moved to Louisa, VA in 1952 and married Lillie Mae Mills in June of that year. Lindsay was a wonderful man, very strong and caring. He was a hardworking man and loved the outdoors, gardening, fishing and so much more. He worked at Leslie Rigsby Sawmill in Louisa, VA for 34 years and at Harlow Brothers Logging for 12 years. In addition to his parents, Daisy and John Jasper, he was preceeded in death by his great granddaughter, Joy S. Jasper and sisters and brothers, Curtis Jasper, Margaret Jasper, Elizabeth Young, Roy Jasper, Sidney Jasper, Mary Lee Jasper, Anna Lee Jasper and John Jr Jasper.
He leaves to keep his memory alive, his wife of 58 years, Lillie Mae Jasper; sons, Lindsay Jasper, Jr. of Lynchburg, VA, Larry Jasper, Thomas Jasper, Leroy Jasper, David Jasper and Calvin Jasper all of Louisa, VA; daughters, Shirley Mae Jasper, Gerline Jasper of Louisa, VA and Barbara Ann Jasper of Charlottesville, VA; brothers, Clarence Jasper of Louisa, VA and William Jasper of New Jersey; sister, Thelma Gratty of Kentucky; 24 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at First Baptist Church, 102 Meadows Ave, Louisa, VA with the Rev. Bruce Jones officiating.
Interment will follow in the First Baptist Cemetery, Louisa, VA.
